Pencil to Paint Art Sessions (now with afternoons for students)
Here at Glimmer Gallery we’re passionate about providing a safe and nurturing creative environment, where artists are free from judgement and are given the best opportunity to develop their own style.

The Open Night Freestyle Art Sessions are for budding artists who want to explore their creative talents and passion for drawing and painting.
Pencil to Paint runs every Tuesday. We are now running discounted high school student sessions from 4-6pm followed by our adult classes from 7-9pm. The sessions are hosted by Gino Severin, successful exhibiting artist and part of the Glimmer family. He will help you explore and develop your own style, whilst guiding you through specific techniques and artistic principles.

How it works
To be clear, this is a Freestyle Art Session. We don’t run sessions to replicate a Rembrandt and you won’t be restricted to a certain genre or technique. Gino will be assisting on the night to help you get the best out of your work.
When you arrive, you will be able to use one of our canvas sheets, or purchase the surface of your choice (canvas, board, paper), choose an object to paint (or bring your own) and away you go! Acrylic paints, brushes, pencils, charcoal and other materials will be provided.
These sessions will enrich your learning through the principles of:
-
perspective and shapes/blocking
-
lights, darks and shadowing
-
combine colours and medium
-
opaque and transparent techniques
-
principles of hues and chromas
-
and a lot more!
The cost to attend is $80 per session payable prior to commencing and you can purchase your chosen surface on the night. Typically surfaces range between $1 to $50, or you can bring your own. Please book to confirm your attendance as spots do fill quickly.
Who are these Sessions for?
At Glimmer Gallery, we believe that everyone deserves some space to be creative!

Ultimately, these sessions are designed for those who want to explore their passion in a small group of like-minded people.

We don't believe in putting people into pigeonholes. Here’s a snapshot of who we think will get the most out of the Open Night Freestyle Sessions.

About the artist - your guide
If you’ve scrolled this far down the page, then you seem committed to exploring more!

My name is Gino Severin and I am a full time artist. I have exhibited my works in galleries and I am still exploring my passion and learning along the way. It’s this shared passion that I hope you’ll connect with and explore with me in these workshops.

I’ve always felt the need to be creative. Exploring our creative sides is what many artists dream about, and it's the power of that dream that helps manifest our art.

However, as with what happened to me, life sometimes gets in the way.
Finding the time to make that dream a reality is challenging in the times we live in. But from my personal experience, making time to explore artistic endeavours has proven to help with reducing anxiety and stress, and puts you in a better state of mental health.

Here at Glimmer Gallery we’re all about making dreams come true! That’s why Pencil to Paint and Exhibit was born. Whether you choose an Open Night Freestyle Art Session or to join the whole series, I am confident you will go ahead in leaps and bounds just by regular practise of your craft.

I invite you to tap into your passion and creative side…submit your details below to discuss how these workshops can set you on a path you’ve always dreamed about.
